Squat Proof Test: How to Tell if Your Gym Wear is Actually See-Through

What Does "Squat Proof" Actually Mean? If you’ve ever bent over in the gym and worried that the person behind you can see your underwear, you know why "squat proof" matters. Simply put, squat proof leggings are made from high-density fabric that does not become transparent when stretched.

At Up Leggings, we believe gym anxiety shouldn’t come from your clothes. Here is how to ensure your gear is ready for leg day.

The 3-Step "Squat Test" Before you cut the tags off your new activewear, perform this simple test in natural lighting:

  1. The Knee Bend: Put the leggings on and stand in front of a mirror (or set up your phone camera).
  2. The Deep Squat: Drop into a full squat.
  3. The Flash Check: If you can see skin tone or the pattern of your underwear through the glute area, they are not squat proof.

Why Do Some Leggings Fail the Test? It comes down to GSM (Grams per Square Meter). Cheap leggings use low-GSM fabric that thins out when stretched.

  • Standard Leggings: Often 200-220 GSM (Prone to sheerness).
  • Up Leggings Signature Sculpt: 350 GSM. We use a high-density textured blend designed specifically to maintain opacity, even at the bottom of a heavy squat.

The Solution? Texture. Our unique hexa-tech fabric doesn't just hide cellulite—it adds a second layer of visual "noise" that makes see-through accidents impossible.
